Each strip length is offered in a wide selectionof pH gradients, with 3, 4 and 7 pH units per strip, to maximise the resolving power of the ACconverter  to optimise separation and resolution with higher protein loads. 24cmIPG strips are recommended for use in the AC30 second-dimension vertical system ACCULAB  Scientific IPG strips are cast using highquality ampholytes, and undergo stringent QCtests for quality and 2-D gel-to-gel reproducibility.

• Each strip is supplied freeze-dried and with a detachable cover film to stop contamination

• The anodic end is labelled as ‘+’, while the cathodic end is light blue in colour to ensure thatthe strips are positioned in the correct polar orientation before first-dimension focusing andsecond-dimension PAGE
• Light blue stain migrates from cathode to anode during focusing, serving as a marker forelectrophoresis progression
• Sample-loading by overnight rehydration or ‘cup-loading’
